Our advanced manufacturing site in Wednesbury, West Midlands, is our newest advanced manufacturing site, and we’ve invested around £4.7 million into state-of-the-art facilities.

Our Wednesbury site is a flagship Added Value centre for Avara, which employ over 450 talented individuals at the site, who help to supply some of the UK’s largest supermarkets and popular restaurants!

About the Role:

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our people across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Technical Coordinator to join our Technical Team, based at our Wednesbury site.

The role is factory based, so you’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf-life products where hygiene standards are critical.  

As a Technical Coordinator you will work Monday to Friday 07:00 – 16:00.

What will you be doing as a Technical Coordinator at Avara?

You will help ensure that the company is following legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements by working with and influencing other people, so work is carried out to the agreed standard and schedule.


What will your key responsibilities as a Technical Coordinator include?

  • Coordinate investigate and respond to complaints in line with customer complaint process, communication of complaint data in the form of internal KPI’s, SGS responses
  • KPIs, trend analysis – Update customer KPIs
  • Maintenance and housekeeping of SI, product data base, OCM management, label templates, pack templates, automatic label verification, X-rays, Metal detectors
  • Manage administrative function alongside the technical team
  • Creating weekly technical board and promote food safety culture
  • Assess Online Reviews
  • Assist with the completion of traceability and audit requests
  • HACCP team member
  • Food defense team member
  • Take part in internal auditing
  • Take part in 3rd party audit and customer visits support
  • Liaising with customers and dealing with information requests

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • The ability to read and understand technical information.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting compliance information
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to research, document and pass on key extracts of content relating to product compliance.
  • Willingness to continuously learn.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.
