Job Title: Engineering Team Leader
Department: Engineering
Location: Banbury Mill
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per year, DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 17:00 (45 hours per week)
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to assist the Engineering Manager in the smooth and safe operation of our Banbury feed mill. You will take on full managerial responsibility in the absence of the Engineering Manager, ensuring machinery performance, minimising downtime, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Support and cover the Engineering Manager as required

Lead and mentor engineers and apprentices

Build and maintain an effective PPM system

Respond promptly to breakdowns and identify root causes to prevent recurrence

Ensure maintenance and engineering activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations

Participate in mechanical and electrical projects, including machine installations, panel work, PLC upgrades, and effluent plant operations

Maintain high standards of hygiene and engineering practices in a fast-paced, feed manufacturing environment
Essential Requirements:

Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering
-
4+ years’ engineering experience with electrical, welding/fabrication, and mechanical fitting skills

Supervisory or team leadership experience

Ability to mentor Level 1/2 Maintenance Engineers and apprentices

Familiarity with process machinery and fault-finding skills

Strong initiative, communication skills, and ability to multitask
Desirable:
-
HNC or higher-level apprenticeship

Food manufacturing experience/qualification
-
IEE 17th/18th Edition, PLC, instrumentation, pneumatics, or Boiler Operator Accreditation
Working Environment:

Factory-based role in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy and dusty environment
