A little about our Telford site:
Our advanced manufacturing site in Telford, is one of our main processing facilities, processing up to 1.5 million birds per week. There are over 1,200 talented people employed at our Telford site, helping us to deliver high quality products to our customers and making the business a trusted leader in fresh foods.
We’ve recently invested £2.3 million in technology and equipment, making it one of the most advanced food manufacturing facilities in the UK.

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our people and products across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Training Administrator to join our HR Team, based at our Telford site.
The role is predominantly office based, but as part of the role there will be times you are required to enter the factory environment which is a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas.
As Training Administrator, you’ll be working Monday to Friday 08.00-16.30 (there may also be occasional requirement to work weekends and flex on to our night shift)
The purpose of this role is to maintain accurate and up to date training documentation for all employees across the Midlands sites and provide administrative support to the Training Function.
Main Accountabilities and Duties:
- Responsible for maintaining training records across the hub through relevant systems / saving of records
- Coordinate provision and renewal of mandated operational licences to include; First Aiders, Fire Marshall, Mental Health, raising purchase orders as required
- Arrange and distribute training materials
- Support the facilitation and organisation of site delivered training
- Monitor / purchase licences for Food Safety to ensure compliance is maintained
- Support the setup of the Training plan for the year for refreshable operational training to ensure compliance
- Produce Monthly Training KPIs, monitoring compliance against core SOPs (focussed on offline training)
- Review feedback from Day 1, Day 2, Week 2 check ins and monitor and highlight trends with Line Managers / HR Manager to drive actions / improvements
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes using surveys, questionnaires, interviews and by observation, in order to plan future courses or to amend existing ones
- Manage functional skills training with the training provider in line with site requirements

- Ensure that food safety, integrity, legality and quality applies at all times and in all areas of our business
- Ensure biosecurity processes and procedures are adhered to (where appropriate) to protect birds from disease and maintain food safety.
- Ensure that the training and, development needs of any subordinate staff are identified and addressed, and contribute generally to the development of an overall learning culture within the company.
- Ensure that delivery of agreed SLA standards is maintained where appropriate.
- Participate as necessary in appropriate shifts and on-call duty rotas, if applicable.
- Other duties within the general scope of the post may be required from time to time.
- The duties of the post and job description will be regularly reviewed by the line manager.
