A little about our Telford site:

Our advanced manufacturing site in Telford, is one of our main processing facilities, processing up to 1.5 million birds per week. There are over 1,200 talented people employed at our Telford site, helping us to deliver high quality products to our customers and making the business a trusted leader in fresh foods.

We’ve recently invested £2.3 million in technology and equipment, making it one of the most advanced food manufacturing facilities in the UK.

About the Role:

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our People and Products across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Training Compliance and Development Manager to join our HR Team, based at our Telford site.

The role is predominantly office based, but as part of the role there will be times you are required to enter the factory environment which is a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas.

As Training Compliance and Development Manager, you’ll be working Monday to Friday 08.00-16.30 (flexibility may be required on Twilight shift)

What will you be doing as a Training Compliance and Development Manager at Avara?

The purpose of the role is to oversee training programs across our Midlands sites, ensuring consistency and compliance with company standards.

This role is responsible for developing training content, leading foundational people management training, and ensuring that all training activities align with the company's ethical values and operational expectations.

What will your key responsibilities include? 

  • Training Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive training strategy that aligns with company goals and compliance requirements.
  • Content Development: Create and update training materials, ensuring they reflect current best practices and compliance standards.
  • People Management Training: Lead the delivery of foundational people management training, ensuring all managers complete the program before advancing to leadership training.
  • Trainer Development: Conduct "train the trainer" sessions to enhance the skills of managers and operations staff in delivering effective training.
  • Audit & Compliance: Audit training sessions to ensure consistency and quality across all sites, addressing any discrepancies promptly.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Monitor and report on training effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.

What you’ll need to be successful:

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours

  • Extensive experience in training and development, with a focus on compliance and people development.
  • Proven experience in developing training content and leading training programs
  • Understanding of effective training skills and techniques
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • In depth knowledge of training compliance standards and regulations
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate passion and commitment developing others
  • Strong and engaging communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office – in particular MS PowerPoint

Desirable

  • A formal learning & development qualification at Level 3/ CIPD/ TAP
  • Experience of the food manufacturing Industry
  • A L3 ILM/CMI Management qualification or equivalent
