We’re looking for a Hatchery Supervisor to join our team at our site in Ower, Hampshire!
No experience necessary, full training is provided!
The applicant needs to live within 5 miles of the site ( 15 minutes )

Working Hours
40 hours per week
Week 1 = Mon, Tues, Wed 1/2 day, Fri, Sat
Week 2 = Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat
1 hour overtime am on a rota
30 mins overtime pm on a rota
Thurs & Sun overtime on a rota
On call rota from Fri – Fri for 1 week
About the role
As a Hatchery Supervisor you will assist the Hatchery Manager and Assistant Manager with the day to day running of the hatchery.
• Ensuring the hatchery equipment is set up correctly, is being operated safely and is cleaned to a high standard after use
• Supervising chick sorting into required grades and quantities ready for delivery
• Transferring eggs from setting machines to the hatching machines effectively
• Liaising with delivery Drivers, Hatchery Managers and Hatchery Operatives
• Maintaining and working within Health and Safety and Site Safety legislation and requirements
• The organisation of team members & equipment
• Checking all team members are using the correct protective equipment provided and is worn at all times
• Ensuring that staff are trained in all aspects of the operation and are familiar with equipment and how it is used
• Timely reporting of hazards and Defects to Hatchery manager or Assistant managers
What are we looking for?
• Good level of English and basic numeracy skills
• Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
• self-motivated and have a positive working attitude
• As you will be in a supervisor role, you will be reliable and have the ability to form good working relationships and communicate effectively
• You must be able to work with minimum supervision and be approachable to staff members
• Previous supervisory experience is essential, preferably within Agriculture, however, full training will be provided.
Due to Bird Welfare, it is essential that you do not own any Avian Pets or Poultry.
