Working hours
Monday – Friday 06:00 – 15:00
There may be occasions when you will be required to stay later to ensure tasks are completed.
About the role
As a Skilled Operative you will be working on production lines with a focus on quality checking of turkeys and turkey products. You’ll be working in a fast paced, dynamic FMCG environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf life products where hygiene standards are critical.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Check bird quality and grading accordingly.
- Preparing birds for production including the removal of offal by hand.
- With training, examine and look for signs of infection or disease.
- Performing safety start up checks for machinery in your areas.
- Manual handling, lifting up to 20kg products.
- Achieving agreed quality standards relating to quality, grading, temperature and preparation.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Good level of English and basic numeracy skills.
- The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively .
- Good attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks.
- Experience within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
