Working Hours:
42 hours per week - 4 on /4 off rotating shift pattern
0600 – 1800 / 1800 – 0600
Purpose of the role:
You will be responsible and accountable for the smooth operation of the production of feed and the Feedmill and control room areas. you will also be responsible for team members and deal with any employee relation issue and concerns.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing all day-to-day activities/responsibilities of the areas and people.
- Manage, train and develop teams/individuals to enhance their performance
- Maintain and monitor quality assurance systems
- Responsible for E, H & S management systems in the area
- To fully understand the importance of safe working practices and procedures related to all areas of their work and be fully aware of all the required safety equipment needed to perform his/her tasks and how equipment should be used.
- Understanding and attainment of both individual and department targets (if applicable)
- To fully understand and comply with all department and company policies and guidelines.
- Awareness of the usage of material and energy sources.
- Co-operate in the continuous improvement of Avara quality, safety and productivity standards.
- To meet housekeeping and hygiene standards individually and as part of a team.
- Compliance with feed specifications and HSE guidelines.
- To carry out instructions as given to you by your Immediate Manager/Management.
- Qualified First Aider.
- To manage and control Contractors including permit control
- To manage and control relevant work place permits – confined space, hot work, Working at height
- Take responsibility as site lead out of office hours.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and traceability records to ensure the smooth running of the mill
- Ensure bins stock are accurate and managed to maximize operating cost and efficiently
- Supply/demand- minimize downtime and ensure the most efficient use of production time.
What we are looking for:
- DSL experience
- Feed mill Experience
- Team Leader cover/experience
- Supervisory Management at NVQ level 4 or equivalent
- Basic level of communication and numeracy
- Previous experience of working in a Feedmill environment.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Computer literate
