Hours: 42 hours per week – 4 on 4 off shift pattern (includes weekends)

We are looking for a Technical Operative to join our team at Banbury Mill. Working alongside the Control Room Lead, you will help operate and manage manufacturing processes to ensure safety, quality, hygiene, and production standards are consistently achieved.
This is a key role within a fast-paced animal feed manufacturing environment, ensuring agreed physical and nutritional specifications are met while maintaining operational efficiency.
Intensive milling environment (noisy and dusty at times)
Processing raw materials into Animal Feed
Primarily control room based, but will navigate the mill environment to ensure successful and compliant operations
Collect and test samples to ensure feed meets nutritional and quality standards
Complete production paperwork and maintain full traceability records
Monitor stock levels in bins to maximise efficiency and control costs
Minimise downtime and ensure efficient use of production time
Liaise with raw material and transport teams to optimise production runs
Monitor physical feed quality and conduct daily PDI checks
Handle supplement bags up to 26kg when required
Ensure the mill operates safely and compliantly 24/7
Maintain cleaning schedules and hygiene standards
Adhere to all Health & Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, and Biosecurity procedures
Report hazards, near misses, and incidents in line with company policy
Promote company values and maintain confidentiality
Carry out other reasonable duties within the scope of the role
Full training will be provided. However, the following would be advantageous:
Skills & Experience (Desirable):Good understanding of manufacturing processes
Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
First Aid training
Forklift licence
HACCP Level 2
Basic Health & Safety knowledge
Positive, collaborative, and inclusive attitude
Strong communication skills
Safety-conscious and proactive approach
