Working Hours

36 hours per week on a 3 week rota.

08:00-18:00  / 4 shifts between Monday and Saturday 

Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday

Week 3 –Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday

About the role

As a Hatchery Operative, working as part of the Hatchery Team, you’ll help assist the hatchery and play a key role in the daily duties which are fundamental to our entire business.

  • Assisting in the effective movement of eggs from storage to incubating machines and then to hatching machine.
  • Moving 10kg trays of eggs into the egg trolleys.
  • Checking if there is anything wrong with the eggs.
  • Moving eggs from incubating machines to hatching machines effectively.
  • Cleaning all equipment after use to the required high standards
  • Safeguarding bio security and following these strict procedures 
  • Observing bird welfare and health and safety on site at all times

What are we looking for?

  • A good level of English and basic numeracy skills
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a flexible attitude to tasks
  • Previous experience is desirable, but not essential as full training is provided.
