Working Hours:  0600hrs – 1430hrs / 1430hrs – 2300hrs, Mon- Fri, two-week rotation
Band/Grade:  Grade 6 / £9.30 per hour plus additional shift premium
 
Purpose of the role:
The Line Relief will be responsible for the rotation of the production line within the Cutting C, White Meat Department.
 
As a member of the Cutting team, based at our Newent factory, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Team Leader by standing in as cover as required and relieving all operative roles within the area. 
 
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Pre-start checks and setting up of any relevant systems and accountability of equipment as required.
• To complete all paperwork relevant to the role.
• Stand in for the Team Leaders as and when required, having full responsibility for the running and efficiency of the Line.
• To fully understand the importance of safe working practices and procedures related to all areas of their work and be fully aware of all the required safety equipment needed to perform his/her tasks and how equipment should be used
• Understanding and attainment of both individual and department targets
• To carry out instructions as given to you by your Team Leader/Management
• Handling/lifting of crates/product averaging 18kg
• Within this role there may be a requirement to work with the Great Plains system
 
What we are looking for:
• Secondary school qualifications in Maths & English – GCSE or equivalent – essential
• Knowledge & experience of production processes, working on own initiative, organising and prioritising workload – essential
• Proven effective intermediate communication skills – essential
• Basic computer skills - essential
• NVQ Level 2 in Food Manufacturing – desirable
• Previous experience of working in a food manufacturing industry and/or experience of leading a team – desirable
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate and Manual Handling Training – desirable
