We are hiring! Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a Farm Manager based at our Ambrosden Farm in Oxfordshire.

Join us as a Farm Manager and you can be a part of the aspiring team that brings Avara Foods to life.

As a member of the Agriculture Team, you will support by taking ownership of the farm and manage the day to day running which marks a key contribution for Avara Foods.

Purpose of the role

As a Farm Manager, you will consistently operate to the highest standard of husbandry and management within company parameters. You will be accountable for flock performance and provide a profitable and efficient operation in this paramount environment.

The Farm Manager is also expected to maintain the high standards of bird welfare as well as bio security farm security and health and safety for all staff and equipment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing bird health including feed and water supplies and checking ventilation and vaccination needs

  • Checking weight stock on a weekly basis and adjust feeding programs accordingly

  • Ensuring paperwork is in place to comply with ACP standards and conduct audits together with the external ACP audit

  • Maintaining and order farm stocks of feed, water, fuel, bedding, vaccines and medications, chemicals, PPE and general equipment

  • Practicing excellent hygiene standards such as the upkeep of the store sheds, farm office and general farm area

  • To test all alarms and fail safe systems and trial run generators to safeguard site security

  • Managing crop efficiencies and monitor farm performance in line with the farm budget

  • Demonstrating yourself a coach and role model for all staff and provide support and training where required

     

What we are looking for:

  • You will have previous experience of managing livestock

  • Good knowledge of bio security and bird welfare standards

  • The ability to build strong working relationships in order to motivate and manage staff effectively

  • You will have excellent numeracy and communication skills

  • A flexible working approach and self-motivated
