As a member of the Agriculture Team, you’ll help manage the farming process which is absolute key for Avara Foods.

Purpose of the role

As an Assistant Farm Manager you will provide support to the Farm Manager where you will aid the day to day running of the farm to provide support and efficiency to our operation.

The Assistant Farm Manager position is a fundamental role to ensuring that the rearing part of agriculture is safely and efficiently managed.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that health and safety procedures of all staff and equipment are being followed correctly

  • Providing cover when the Farm Manager is absent

  • Monitoring the wellbeing of the birds

  • Checking alarm, ventilation, feed and drink systems

  • Maintaining excellent hygiene standards

  • Carrying out vaccinations where needed


What we are looking for:

  • You will have previous experience of working with livestock, preferably poultry

  • The ability to build strong working relationships in order to motivate and manage staff effectively

  • You will have excellent numeracy and communication skills

  • A flexible working approach
