Flexible Core Hours; Monday – Friday 07:00hrs – 16:00hrs with additional hours covering weekends. 

Purpose of the role:

Working closely with the Farm Management teams, the Relief Farm Manager will provide cover on a daily/weekly basis for both rearing and laying farms to support the function of the farm. This role would suit an ambitious individual that is looking to progress within the company.

Reporting into the Area Manager, the Relief Farm Manager will ensure all aspects of running the farm are met to include ensuring optimum bird performance from chick in-take to turn around, whilst ensuring and maintaining safe work practices of all staff and contractors on site. 

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Responsible for the welfare of livestock, feeding, ordering, ventilation management, vaccination, record keeping etc. 
  • Undertaking manual duties such as egg collecting, weighing birds and general site maintenance. 
  • Meeting the requirements of legislation, assurance schemes and company policies.
  •  Carrying out pager cover for the farms every other weekend and dealing with alarm call outs during this period.  
What we are looking for:
  • Proven Chicken Breeding experience. 
  • NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Poultry production or similar Agriculture qualification is desirable but full training will be given.
  • Possess own transport in order to travel to other farm sites is essential. 
  • Proven effective communication and people management skills with the ability to be self-driven to gain results and look for continued improvements to site safety and productivity. 
Due to Bird Welfare, it is important that you do not possess any avian pets/poultry.
