About the Role:

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to investing in our supply chain across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Transport Scheduler to join our Agricultural team, based at our Westbury Mill in Wiltshire.

The role is office based at the mill, so you’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working with internal and external teams. As Transport Scheduler, you’ll be working 08:00 – 17:00 Monday – Friday with a requirement for remote on-call support.

What will you be doing at Avara?

As a Transport Scheduler you’ll be working closely with the feed mill production team to schedule feed deliveries and collections to and from various farms and sites across England and Wales.

What will your key responsibilities as Transport Scheduler include?

• Efficiently scheduling deliveries to farms and collection of raw materials.
• Managing driver movements ensuring compliance with driver regulations.
• Arranging required services and testing with the garage or contractors.
• Working with the production team to ensure the right mix of raw materials is available.
• Communicating any potential shortfalls or constraints that may impact daily plans.
• Being a point of contact out of hours to support farm changes.

  What you’ll need to be successful:

• A sound understanding of driver rules and working time directive.
• Working knowledge of transport operations.
• To be comfortable using Microsoft Office.
• Previous experience within animal feed or agriculture would be beneficial.
• Strong communications skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to changes in production, plans and on the road.
