About the Role:
Training Officer

As an inclusive, forward-thinking business, we take pride in our approach to Training & Development across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Training Officer to join our Site Operations team, based at our advanced manufacturing site in Brackley, Northamptonshire.  

Purpose of the role:
As a Training Officer, you will manage the provision, design and delivery of operational on-boarding and skills training to ensure all colleagues are effectively inducted and developed to perform their roles and handle our products safely, to defined stakeholder standards.

You will be responsible for setting the training plan across the year, monitoring and ensuring compliance and consistency across all shifts.

Operating Environment & Working Hours

Working hours are Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00, but flexibility required in hours to support site activities, such as induction. 

This is a predominately office-based role but there is a requirement for you to go within the factory environment. 

Your key responsibilities as a Training Officer will include:
Ensuring the provision of mandatory workshops & training within 13-week induction training programme
Delivering operator in-house Food Safety and Health and Safety training
Designing and delivery off-the-job operational training and aids
Working with heads of department to review PDP’s in performance hub to develop training plan / budget
Line Management responsibilities for onsite Trainers 
Working to and reporting progress against training KPIs, ensuring matrices are maintained and up to date
Reporting training records and activities
Coordinating provision and renewal of mandated operational licences to include; FLT, First Aiders 
Monitoring and coordinating provision of mandated refresher training 
Creating plan to maintain compliance for all food safety and health and safety training
Reviewing and coding new SOPs, and work with line managers to develop competency / verification of learning assessments
Supporting delivery of new starter induction
Auditing new starter 3, 7, 11 on-boarding programme
Co-ordinating responses to new starter check ins, feeding outputs into the site retention plan as required
Sourcing and quality assurance externally provided training/ workshops/ programmes as appropriate 
Supporting operational managers to conduct skills gap analysis exercises
Evaluating and tracking the costs of planned training activities
Input to operational skills development pathways and skills mapping
Supporting implementation of operational apprenticeships at site
Supporting delivery of Human Rights & Ethics training
Coordinating site FDQ centre paperwork & audits

Confident user of MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Qualifications & Experience

Understanding of effective training skills and techniques 
A sound understanding of colleague safety and operational requirements
Experience of designing, delivering and maintaining training materials
Experienced within in a training delivery/facilitation role 
Competent user of Microsoft Office – in particular MS PowerPoint
Minimum GCSE A-C Grades in Maths and English or equivalent 
Full driving licence

A formal learning & development qualification at Level 3/ CIPD/ TAP 
Experience of communicating at all levels 
Experience of the food manufacturing Industry 
A L3 ILM/CMI Management qualification or equivalent
