Are you an experienced, imaginative, innovative Learning Experience Designer?  Do you have a passion for creating engaging content with the learner at the heart of your design? Are you prone to seek inspiration outside of L&D with the aim to improve learning experience?

As an inclusive business, we’re on an L&D journey to reinvent learning at Avara Foods. We are looking for a highly competent, inspiring and engaged Learning Experience Designer to fill this newly created role and be part of the progressive People Development team on an initial 12-month fixed term contract.
 
This role will suit someone who is looking to make an impact, support in the implementation of a digital learning strategy and create innovative content that truly engages and resonates with our people.

Purpose of the role:
The L&D Experience Designer will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, acting as a partner, to engage, consult and deliver innovative learning and solution needs, whilst creating and managing these solutions end to end. 

Your key responsibilities as a Learning Experience Designer will include:
  • Create fresh, exciting, blended learning content as part of the People Development team, leveraging the use of technology enabled learning and design principles
  • Provide input when refreshing existing learning content in terms of technology and the design principles to move content digital where a benefit is identified
  • Create bespoke graphics, video and digital solutions for visually engaging and brand compliant projects that are effective from a learner and commercial perspective
  • Work with the wider Avara L&D teams, and SMEs to ensure suitable evaluation metrics are defined at the design stage and are measurable in terms of quantitative and qualitative data of all content
  • Review and amend existing content in light of post course evaluations and feedback, making recommendations based on insight to change interactions or activities so that the required learning objectives and experiences are achieved
  • Design learning content to agreed, consistent processes and methodologies
  • Build fresh and engaging eLearning content using Articulate 360
  • Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI, cmi5, WCAG and Universal Design standards and specifications
  • Confident at creating or advising on digital solutions for learner engagement
  • Develop relationships with learning technology experts and 3rd party suppliers
  • Engage with the business to gain insight and trends to better inform the learning solutions using UX methodologies
What we’re looking for:
  • Relevant learning design qualification(s). Or relevant experience
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in L&D Design 
  • Strong experience using Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate
  • Competent in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud specifically, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro, After Effects, Animate and AcrobatDC
  • Competent level in the creation of bespoke graphics and other visual assets
  • Highly literate with demonstrable writing ability 
  • Good visual design skills and the ability to storyboard for film and eLearning
  • Experience working with executive level stakeholders, business leads, and SMEs
  • Experience performing business analysis to identify performance and learning needs
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and creative thinking skills
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fluid environment with multiple priorities
  • Multimedia knowledge and experience for designing learning solutions in a digital world
  • Very good eye for detail
  • Enthusiastic and optimistic 
  • Strong working knowledge of Office365, SharePoint and associated apps
  • Appreciation of instructional design methodologies 
  • Creating highly engaging, blended learning programmes (Classroom, virtual, eLearning and digital)
  • Applying new learning technologies and utilising technical development tools
  • Evaluating business impacts of learning through kpi’s, insights and learner experience
  • A learning design qualification - desirable
  • TAP or CIPD L&D qualification - desirable
  • A food safety/hygiene trainer qualification - desirable
  • Experience of working in a fast moving FMCG environment - desirable
