We are Hiring! Due to continued growth we are recruiting for a Poultry Inspection Auditor to join our Technical team based in Newent.

Working Hours: 4 x 10 hour shifts / Monday – Friday / 0500 – 1600 (Job and Finish)
 
Purpose of the Role
 
As a member of the Technical team, you’ll help drive standards to ensure the production team can fulfil their responsibilities for food safety, legality and product compliance.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Carry out process checks at intervals and of a nature determined by the area and business, this will include checks for food safety, animal welfare, product quality and legality.
  • Assist the Official Veterinarian in conducting post mortem inspections of poultry carcasses and offal.
  • Act as an advisor and guide on quality, food safety and legality issues within the business
  • Document all findings and actions including requirements for follow up for all checks carried out.
  • Liaise and guide operational team in the event of non-conformances arising.  Ensure issues are documented and actions put in place to remove immediate courses and permanent corrective action.
  • Be familiar with pest control, water monitoring, hygiene verification, GMP, quality, label and analytical systems of the quality assurance department.
  • To fully understand and comply with all department and company policies and guidelines as well as local enforcement authorities (FSA)
  • Conduct other duties and projects as requested by the Technical Manager
    To fully understand the importance of safe working practices and procedures related to all areas of their work and be fully aware of all the required safety equipment needed to perform his/her tasks an how equipment should be used.
 
 
What we are looking for:
 
  • GCSE or equivalent to include Maths, Literacy & Science
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels within the business
  • Proven ability to have attention to detail, initiative and to think independently
  • Intermediate level of IT skills
  • NVQ Level in Food Manufacturing would be desirable
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate would be desirable
  • HACCP & COSHH would be desirable
  • Royal Society For Public Health Level 2 Award for Proficiency In Poultry Meat Inspection would be desirable
