Purpose of the role:

The Senior Stocksperson / Poultry worker will work closely with the Farm Management team, ensuring the well being and performance of the livestock, although this will by definition, extend to the up keep and appearance of the site as a whole. 
This is an ideal opportunity to join our Agriculture team and advance a career within our Agriculture Operations. 

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Working with the Farm Manager, to ensure all aspects of running the farm are met from chick in-take to turnaround: including but not limited to walking the sheds, laying shavings, handling poultry including culling and general care of poultry. 
  • Responsible for bird welfare and compliance with bio-security rules and supervising Contractors on site.
  • General farm duties such as ground maintenance including use of equipment such as tractor driving, cleaning, complete all relevant general paperwork and PC work on site, if required.
  • Cover Manager’s absence/holidays and you will be required to monitor the alarms for the site, this may include overnight alarms, any breakdowns and call outs on the farm.
  • Meet housekeeping standards and compliance to all health and safety practices and procedures.
What we are looking for:
  • Intermediate level of numeracy and literacy 
  • Need to possess own transport
  • Manual handling experience is desirable but full training will be given
  • Previous experience of working in an Agricultural environment or similar position is desirable but if you have a passion for Agriculture, do get in touch
  • Poultry Welfare Certificate is desirable
  • NVQ Level 2 in livestock production (or equivalent) is desirable 
Due to Bird Welfare, it is important that you do not possess any avian pets or poultry.
